Let me begin by sharing an overview of my illness and its history. Thirteen years ago, I was in an life changing ski accident that left me instantly paralyzed from the neck down. I was 23 years old, confronted with no use of my hands or legs. (Not to mention my digestion...nightmare!) The doctors gave me little hope for improvement, telling me I would never walk, write or hug again. Upon hearing these words, I immediately knew I had two choices: I could lay in bed and cry about it, or I could do something about it.

I have a passion for holistic healing. I believe in healing in every language. I feel it's never too late to overcome. I WAS GOING TO WALK AGAIN
Once my insurance ran out, the medical system sent me home, stating there was nothing left that they could do for me. With the odds stacked against me, I had to become my own healer. I had to dig deep within myself to find answers to issues occurring in my body.
The experience has proven to be quite the journey, requiring self-discipline, patience and desire. The accident affected me on every level mind, body and soul. I had to find the inner strength to discover my path. I have always known that my injury was bigger than me, that through the struggle I would gain knowledge and insight as to how I can inspire and help others live the life they dream. Because, everyone deserves a second chance to heal from their binding constraints...

With a combination of exercise, diet, belief and lots of LOVE from family and friends; I have healed my body. Today, I walk with the assistance of a cane and enjoy teaching spinning classes to abled body athletes. Along the way, I have gathered insight from other countries and cultures; a passion of mine...traveling the world, eating nutritious yummy foods and drinking good wine (all in moderation!) Not always a smooth and easy path, along the way, I went through a devastating divorce, overcame digestion issues, and found balance in my hormonal household all the while dealing with a low body image. Today, I live for any outdoor activity skiing, scuba, body boarding, biking and horseback riding. I have a new addiction BIKRAM YOGA! I enjoy my time alone, researching, reading, and cooking as much as I love an early night out with friends.
I believe the universe is perfect for everyone and we must embrace are greatest obstacles in order to overcome and live as our authentic selves. My desire is to help others learn to help themselves, to listen, offer insight, ideas or motivation to move people toward their goals, to help them simply feel better and have more energy to live a better quality of life. My hope is to be a resource that you can use to find inspiration without judgment. I want to create and build relationships with you and others in order for us all to reach optimum health. A balance between career, relationships, spirituality and exercise. The strength lives within each and every one of us. We have a decision to make, a choice: we must push on to overcome.
I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
